FOOTBALL CANADA: VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR THE IFAF WORLD FLAG FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Football Canada is proud to once again host the 5th
IFAF Flag Football World Championships (FFWC).
This year the tournament will be held in Ottawa, August 11
- 15. The International Federation of American Football’s (IFAF) Flag
Football World Championship has been held since 2002. It is the showpiece
biannual tournament for senior national teams competing in 5-on-5 flag football
in two divisions, Men’s & Women’s.
We are expecting 20 International teams and more than 300
athletes. The Canadian Men’s Team are the defending 2008 World Champions;
and our Women’s Team took silver. Our venues to show case the FFWC are Carleton
University and the RA Centre.
Needless to say, a project of this magnitude requires a
significant contribution of human resources. To that end, Football Canada is
reaching out to the community for volunteer assistance. In addition to providing
a service to the organizers, volunteers will be able to see world-class flag
football, featuring national champions from the four corners of the globe. If
you think that you would like to help, please read the attached volunteer job
descriptions and complete the application form.
THANK YOU.Online Application FormDownload Application Form (PDF)

Down Set Hut Youth Football Camp by Bobby Singh
We
are preparing for our 2nd Annual Down Set Hut Football Camp which is set to take
place on May 22nd, 2010 at the Minoru Oval in Richmond.
We
would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the sponsors that truly
stepped up to make a difference last year and ensure that the 1st Annual Down
Set Hut Football Camp was a tremendous success!
Last
year's camp included approximately 125 kids that participated. In addition to
being able to meet, interact and get autographs from all of the coaches, the
kids were taught essential football skills and put through challenging drills
before being able to try all of the things they learned in the scrimmages.
This
year our camp will be led by the San
Francisco 49ers Strength and Conditioning Coach Mark Uyeyama. He will be joined by some
of the Canadian Football League’s finest, such as:
· Geroy Simon

We
hope to build on last year's success and grow the camp this year. Sponsorship is
vital to the success of the camp as it will enable us to add to the interactive
learning experience for the kids.
We
are hoping that you would be interested in sponsoring this year's camp.
Sponsorship is a great way for you and/or your company to be recognized in the
community as a supporter of youth athletics. We are proud to add a new member to
our community partnership team this year, as we will be sponsoring kids from
the Zajac Ranch for Children.
This is in addition to the groups that we
sponsored last year, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vancouver and the
Richmond Raiders Minor Football League.
For
more information or to become a sponsor, please visit our website (www.downsethutfootball.com)
which has been revamped courtesy of one of our new platinum sponsors, Global
Website Creations.
Sponsorship
can be completed online by clicking on the "Sponsorship" button or feel free to
contact us to set up a meeting to sponsor. This year the
minimum sponsorship amount will be $500.00.
Also,
feel free to visit our website to learn more about the camp, see pictures
from last year's camp or even register a child that you feel may benefit from
our program.
Thank
you for your consideration and we hope for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Bobby
Singh
