Establishing himself as a starting offensive lineman in his third year
in the league, Greaves started all 18 games at left guard and was part
of a unit that showed a tremendous amount of progression throughout the
season, springing running back Chad Simpson for over 1,000 yards and
finishing fourth in the league in net rushing.
Greaves dressed as Winnipeg’s sixth offensive lineman all season and
saw the field in all short-yardage situations. He started the final
three regular season games at left guard but his shining moment came on
Aug 5/11 when he fielded a short kickoff and returned it eight yards
before falling to the turf to protect the football.
Chris was drafted as a defensive linesman, he was converted to the offensive line during training camp; he spent the entire season on the active roster. Chris dress for five games and made one start as left guard.
Greaves, a defensive lineman with Western, was named to the OUA second team all-star. He finished the 2009 season with 17 tackles, 1.5 sacks and was part of a Mustangs defence that tied the OUA lead with 22 sacks.
